No Dye and Eco Friendly Cashmere
Cashmere has the natural color of ivory, taupe, sand and grey. Up until a few decades ago, only natural dyestuffs are available for cashmere coloring, such as bark, berries, seaweed and lichens. With technology advances, these days we have available all types of colorfast dystuffs that help to match any type of color palette. In creating Zynni Cashmere label, Qing Hua, a London College of Fashion graduate, takes advantage of numerous newly created cashmere color shades to showcase the natural elegance of her design. No dye cashmere loungewear series, however, is most dear to her heart. Using the blend of naturally colored cashmere, Qing developed a complete set of lounge wear that combines ultimate luxury, softness and natural comfort. “The inner beauty of cashmere fabric is so adequate in its natural color, I just want to find a venue to reveal it and to share it with fashion lovers”, said Qing. The added environmental benefit of not using any chemical dyestuffs makes this design series is all the more sweet. Cashmere is treasured for its rarity and superb quality – only ~6,500 metric tons of cashmere is yielded each year, compared to about 2 million of regular wool materials, or less than half of 1%. Comb collected from lower neck and belly of cashmere goats in the spring time, cashmere is soft to the touch of skin and extremely light. It is warm in the cold winter yet cool in the warm weather. The delicate nature of cashmere fiber also means a complex preparation process before it is ready to create wonders by fashion designers. A long list of 48-65 steps are needed to get cashmere ready for knitting, fabricating and cutting to a cashmere garments, from dehairing, dyeing, blending and teasing, carding, spinning, winding , warping and drawing, weaving, grease mending,, purling, to finally finishing. Zynni Cashmere uses the finest Inner Mongolia cashmere, well regarded as the best quality cashmere in the world. In each of the cashmere preparation, either in dyeing, blending and teasing or carding, etc., we have a strong preference of a natural, eco friendly procedure that not only protect environment but in most cases, produce better cashmere for the brand.
